Details of Project
The Rakino Island Bach was completed by Ryan and his team in 2017. The Bach is open plan and lined with ply wood, had three bedrooms and two bathrooms and a deck spanning the length of the rectangular Bach.
This project required the majority of the work prior to getting to site to ensure nothing was missed during the preparation. Due to the remote location and irregular scheduling of the barge to take materials to the site, all works and materials had to be perfectly programmed for the project to run smoothly. Ryan worked closely with the owner during the preparation and procurement phase to ensure nothing was overlooked.
The build was completed using generators as there is no power on the island. Solar panels were installed for the building’s power, and water is supplied by tank water. Ryan and his team accessed the site by boat and stayed on the island each week to make the most of their time there.
At the end of 2017 Ryan’s team completed the second stage of this project which was a sleep-out in the same design as the main bach. The sleepout was completed in three days.
